Manufacturing process for tinplate cans

Tinplate packaging

At our site in Wuppertal, we have been producing tinplate cans in various designs for customers throughout Europe for many years.

In addition to the classic ring-lid can, e.g. for paints, we also manufacture plug-in lid cans for fillers and easy-open lid cans for various chemical-industrial products. We manufacture two-piece cans for pasty fillings or sweets/drops.

We also produce slip lid cans, which are ideal as decorative cans and which our customers like to fill with pastry specialties or use as tea tins.

Our cans are available in various designs. They can be ordered blank without a design, plain or with an individual, multi-colored design. We offer you the flexibility you need to present your products in an appealing way.

Metal Closures

Metal closures with seal

Closures

In addition to producing closures for our cans, we also manufacture tinplate and aluminum closures.

Our aluminum lids are used to close jars that are rinsed after emptying and reused as drinking glasses, a resource-saving solution.

The production of slip-lids as a sustainable alternative to plastic lids is particularly important to us. These lids can be resealed and are ideal for products such as instant coffee powder or milk powder. We are committed to offering innovative solutions that are both functional and environmentally friendly.

Worth knowing

  • arrow_forwardAluminum

Aluminum occurs naturally as aluminum oxide (alumina) in bauxite and is the raw material for aluminum production (fused-salt electrolysis). Bauxite is a weathered product of limestone and silicate rock and is mainly mined in open-cast mines in Australia, China and Brazil. Aluminum reacts quickly with oxygen and forms a thin layer of aluminum oxide, which protects aluminum products well against weathering and corrosion. Aluminum is ideal for recycling. The processing of aluminum requires extrusion, rolling aluminum ingots into sheets, strips and aluminum foil and various casting processes. Surface treatments include grinding, brushing, polishing and pickling.

  • arrow_forwardTinplate

Tinplate is a thin cold-rolled steel sheet. The surface is coated with tin as corrosion protection. Common sheet thickness ranges from 0.1 to 0.5 mm.
